Mandatory Parent Meeting for CA trip

Every cheerleader must have ONE parent attend the mandatory parent meeting MONDAY September 24 @ 8:00 pm in room 2211. 

We will go over the proposed trip itinerary   , costs, fundraising, to travel to the West Coast Championship in Knotts Berry Farm, California, March 13-16.

We will then have a confidential ballot/ voting. 

We need you to attend. We are on a deadline with the district to get the trip approved and we need everyone's vote. No one can miss.

Okay I need everyone to have a parent sign the waiver for Airtime. I have some in my classroom  or you can go to Airtimes website  www.airtimetrainingcenter.com print off the free class trial waiver form.

Concussion Testing!!!!!

Parents and Cheerios 

 Orem High is having each athlete take a sideline concussion test, ImPACT. It helps with determining a concussion. Cheer is scheduled to take the 45 minute test, this  Friday at 10am in the Orem high computer lab.

Each cheerleader MUST take the test. If you can't make it Friday, they have ONE make up time Monday Aug 12 at noon. 

I will be sending home a concussion packet that you must read through together and send back the signed sheet.

Cheer Pictures!!!!!!!!

Cheer pictures will be Tuesday August 13 th @ 6:30. We will meet @ OHS then head up to the shoot:)

Final Summer Practices

It's time to get everything polished and ready for the new school year:)

Just as your packets from the beginning mentioned we have mandatory practice the next 2 weeks.

We will meet Monday thru Thursday 7 to 9. We must work hard every minute. Much to get ready.

Please bring your shoes and poms to every practice!!!!!

For those who have girls camp, family trips, or are doing another sport.... iT is UP TO YOU! To learn any missed material.

I need a text from you, ASAP, stating why you will be missing any practice the next 2 weeks. 

Being sick is not an excuse! We need you there!!!!!!!! 

If you don't know the material by kick off for the first game.... You will sit.

Please work hard for your team.

Next week you will be given our fall sports schedule and your football player.

Okay girls... Remember to be running the routines a couple times a day, working, stretching ect. We WILL know if you have not been:/

Our next practice is Monday July 22 and 23 from 7 to 10 .

We have also been asked to help with Coopers Run again this year Saturday July 27 8 am. We will be doing a short routine and water stops. It is a great experience to help the Koffords and have loved being able to help.

Parade Week and Camp Info

It has been a great summer...You are all working so hard!
IMPORTANT INFO
* Bring physical forms and camp participation forms to practice tomorrow!!! You WILL run an extra mile if you don't. If your physical is scheduled please send a note with your cheerleader stating it scheduled and for when.

*You must have made your first 2 uniform payments by Thursday($300.00). You will not receive your uniforms or camp wear until you do.

*We march in the parade on Saturday. You will need to be at 800 East and 400 Southish by 6:00pm.
We will be wearing our blue uniforms and gold bows. (Again you will need to have made your first 2 payments for you to receive your uniform on Thursday)

*Make sure you talk to your sports teams about marching with us in the parade!!!! 

*They got their "secret sister" for camp today. They need 4 small gifts or thoughts for the cheerleader they picked.

* I will send home camp packing lists with them this week

*You will be dropping and picking your cheerleader up from camp at the U of U. If you can drive let your daughter know. We have usually carpooled up and back. Parents taking turns. I will ask tomorrow who's parents would be able to carpool.

So excited for camp!!!! We are loving getting to know this squad better. Everyday is SO much fun and yet they work hard, progressing and looking amazing!

PHYSICALS MUST BE DONE BEFORE CAMP!!! It is a rule of OHS that every athlete has a current physical on file each year. If you have concerns, please contact me. THIS IS FOR EVERYONES SAFETY. 
* The camp participation form must be returned to me by the end of this week!!!! Please fill it out completely!!!!!! Insurance info and all. There is the option to purchase the camp insurance for $5.00.
*Please make your next $150.00 payment to the school by the end of the week. have them put it towards your uniform costs.
* We will be doing a fundraiser for camp. We are not doing a summer mini cheer clinic. But are planning on a car wash in July. Details to come.

FOR BOYS BB STATE This WEEK.

We play on Tuesday February 26th at 11:10 at Weber State University. the BUS will leave at 9:15. Performing at halftime

If they win we play Thursday at 4:10, bus leaving at 2:15.

If they win we play Friday at 5:30, bus leaving at 3:30. 

If they win, the Boys Championship will be Saturday if they win at 4:00, bus leaving at 1:45. We will have halftime opportunities at the boys games.

 WE ARE SO EXCITED FOR OUR LADY TIGERS! THEY WON...SO Girls play tomorrow, Thursday at 2:30. The bus will leave OHS at 1:00. YELLOW UNIFORM!!! This is a huge game so tell everyone to come! They play Timpveiw!!!!!!!

2013-2014 OHS Cheer tryouts are approaching. March 25, 26, 27.  I will be posting more info next week with details and sending flyers out to our Jr. Highs and here at the high school. The most important things you need to know and remember for tryouts

* 3.0 GPA NO F's on transcript

* To make any OHS cheer squad,  a STRONG running and standing back handspring is HIGHLY recommended. (If you would like info on tumbling classes, feel free to text Coach Debi at 801 636 2852)

* You will need 5 Teacher Recommendations

* Attend clinics

* COMMITMENT

* Attend Try out Meeting MARCH 7th @ 3:30 in room 2211 at OHS

GIRLS AND BOYS STATE PLAYOFFS

Cheerios' here is the most updated information I have for State Playoffs....STATE PLAYOFF GAMES ARE NOT OPTIONAL!!!! You have known and have been constantly talked to about the last two weeks of February for the last month. Your asked to stay up in classes, to make sure your calenders were clear for those weeks, because we had no way of knowing when they would be playing. Again these games are MANDATORY! IT IS STATE! WE ARE CHEERLEADERS! If you miss, you will be docked.

With that
Today our bus will leave at 5:45 to go to SLCC for the GBB Round One State Game @ 7:30. We should be home around 10:00.
IF THEY WIN...They will play on Thursday at 2:30. The bus will leave OHS at 1:00. 
If they win Thursday they will play Friday at 4:00, we would leave at 2:30 from OHS 
and finally if they win there we will play Saturday in the championship game at 1:00 and leave from OHS at 11:30.

Girls State BB and final Boys Region game

Okay, the girls BB team made it to state. They play Tuesday at 7:30 at SLCC. With the weekend I have not been able to find out about bus details. We will tentatively plan to leave on the bus at 5:45 form OHS.

I will update over the weekend as soon as I find out more info on the state playoffs and how the girls finished up today. Please be prepared. The state games are played the next two weeks, single elimination, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. So please keep schedules open...especially the BOYs state week. The last week in February.

Our final Boys game is WEDNESDAY @ Timpanogas. There is no girls game that day so everyone arrive at 6:15 to warm up and stretch. We will wear our Blue with white skirt to the Timp game.
